SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters. The Association of Women’s Business Centers (AWBC) is a national non-profit 501(cX3) organization founded in 1998. The AWBC works to secure economic justice and entrepreneurial opportunities for women by supporting and sustaining a national network of over 100 Women’s Business Centers (WBC). WBCs help women succeed in business by providing training, mentoring, business development and financing opportunities to over 140,000 women entrepreneurs each year in every state in the union. The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) program is designed to provide entrepreneurial development services such as business training, counseling, and resource partner referrals to service members, veterans, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and family members interested in starting or growing a small business. Oklahoma Commerce helps veteran entrepreneurs by providing gathered resources from across the state to help guide business ideas from inception to implementation. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce also serves as an initial point of contact for established and aspiring business owners in OK by providing information on starting a business, organizations that assist small businesses and other common questions related to small business ownership.
