Boots to Business is the two-step entrepreneurial training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a training track within the Department of Defense’s Transition Assistance Program. This course is open to service members (including members of the National Guard & Reserves) and their spouses.
Step One: Introduction To Entrepreneurship Two-Day Course
This two-day course is offered as a TAP training track for those interested in learning more about the opportunities and challenges of business ownership. Subject matter experts and practitioners from SBA and its network of partners teach the course at over 180 military installations worldwide. Participants learn business basics and techniques for evaluating the feasibility of their business concepts.
Boots to Business Reboot (B2BR)
For those Service members who have already transitioned back to civilian life, VBOC offers Boots to Business Reboot. Boots to Business Reboot is a two-step entrepreneurial training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). This course is open to Veterans of all eras, Service members (including members of the National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses.
Military Spouse Pathway to Business
Military Spouse Pathway to Business is offered to military and veteran spouses in their communities, virtually, and on demand via the MySBA Learning platform. Participants will learn about the skills, knowledge and resources needed to launch a business. This course is tailored specifically for military spouses with a dedicated curriculum, peer group, and schedule better suited for them.
Step Two: Boots To Business Revenue Readiness
Boots to Business Revenue Readiness (B2B RR) is a six-week online training program designed to build on the business idea conceptualized during the introductory two-day B2B course and help you take your business idea from concept to actionable plan in a relatively short timeframe. Structured as a virtual, interactive classroom, the program consists of “live” instructor-led sessions twice-per-week with corresponding assignments focused on identifying customers, developing a business model, and drafting a business plan.
